Warszawa review

Went to Warszawa in Santa Monica last night and really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is pleasant, though the music, Johann Strauss-type classical with the occasional jazz piece, is a bit over the top. The hot borscht was delicious. (Why do I love borscht when I don't like plain beets?) The pierogis were quite tasty. At the waitress's suggestion, I tried a combination of the three vegetarian ones; the cheese-dill were my favorite of the three. The cabbage rolls were also good. Portions were a bit small, by my twenty-five-year-old-male standards.

For dessert, the vanilla crepes and the mocha torte, also with vanilla sauce, were both excellent. We agreed that the Polish dessert wine, a honey wine, was surprisingly good. A warning: there's nothing on the dessert menu for chocolate purists. I'd have been sad if I'd come here a couple of years ago, before I developed a taste for mocha flavor.

I'd definitely go back again.
