Located in the same plaza as T&T, this Hong Kong cafe style eatery is constantly packed, especially during their afternoon-tea hours.
Looking for a place to eat prior to doing our grocery shopping at T&T, we stopped by for a quick lunch/afternoon-tea bite!
Food was decent and in some cases fairly tasty. Their Club sandwich was a surprising stand out!....with great filling, especially the egg! The ' Chow Ho-Fun rice noodle dish ' was nicely executed and has attractive wok-hay aroma. Down side was the overly sweet Bolognese meat and cheese sauce topping for their Spaghetti casserole and the under-seasoned fried chicken wings. Additional $1.25 charge for changing hot to cold drinks was a touch excessive when compared to nearby competitors!
However, my major issue was NOT with the food but their DISHONEST BUSINESS PRACTICE!.....What a scam! The hand written bill arrived with just a grand total without itemizing of the dishes ordered! After returning home, a quick calculation revealed they overcharged and scammed $4 from the bill total!......Similar experiences as other posters on blogs like Tripadvisors or Yelp!!
I should have visited those sites, read the negative review and warning and avoided this place!!
Now, I can only post this WARNING and wish any future patrons luck and ultra-careful with the bill!!
