Once upon a time, Balthazaar's little bakery shop front sold a wonderful sandwich. It was simply prosciutto, parmigiano-reggiano, roasted peppers, and arugula on ciabatta. It was divine. It's gone. Now they have perfectly nice chicken breast and turkey sandwiches, just like everywhere else.
I just popped up there on the off chance they had brought back my dream sandwich. They hadn't. I went to Dean & Deluca and got a pretty ok sandwich of Italian meats, provolone, and red peppers. But I'm still pining for my old flame.
Anyone know where I can get something similar below 14th? I like the pressed sandwiches at Murray's Cheese just fine, but they don't use ciabatta, and they I don't think they combine prosciutto and parmigiano-reggiano.
