Wang's - excellent Northern Chinese food, as always

新年快樂! gung hai fat choi!

For Chinese New Year last night, a group of my I-don't-like-food friends and I ordered in from Wang's Fast Food in Magoon Square, Somerville. Only having the tiniest of influences, I managed to expose them to:
scallion pancakes: excellent
pork slices with plum sauce: lovely pieces of scallion mixed in here - heathermb first brought this dish to my attention and it's just great and my food-scared friends ate it up.
shredded beef with spicy green peppers: another winner, surprising my friends as they actually liked it.
tofu noodles with chives: I really liked the bounciness of the noodles and the chives were sweet and bright. Only one other person actually liked these.

They ordered:
general chow's chicken: Not so bad. More in the form of Zhongqing Fried Hot Chicken, with a really light breading and a complex sauce.
Crab rangoons: didn't try; find the idea of deep fried cream cheese a little repulsive.
Boneless spareribs: not so bad, totally generic.
vegetable fried rice: didn't try.

Friends thought the food was a little scary, so they ordered those deep fried chicken finger things and some chicken and broccoli from Jade Garden. Eh, more shredded beef for me!
