Visitor Needs Opinion on Sushi Choices

Humbucker | Mar 23, 2006 11:17 PM

I going to be coming down to L.A. from the SF bay area next week and I'm looking for a good, reasonably priced sushi place. I've scoured the archives and have come up with this list of places that might fit the bill:

Sushi Ike
Sushi Gen
Hirosuke
Hirozen
Shibucho
Sushi Hide

Anyone have any input that would help me make my choice? I'd prefer a restaurant with relatively low prices ($40 or under for a full meal) and generously sized cuts of fish. I'm also going to be doing either a la carte ordering or omakase, so platters and lunch specials don't count. Recommendations for places not on my list are welcome, too.
