vintage monday night

My wife and I tried Vintage last night. Free valet parking started the evening with a nice touch. We were warmly greeted at the front door, and seated right away. Nice looking
room, very ‘clubby’ lots of dark wood and leather. There is a nice lounge area with big
Leather chairs and loveseats. The menu is kind of all over the place. There were several
Apps with an asian influences, a salmon cucumber roll, veg roll, and tuna tartar. Several with a Italian feel, calamari, and bruschetta. I went with the jumbo shrimp cocktail. Huge shrimp perfectly cooked with just the right amount of meatiness. My wife had the Caesar salad. Nice dressing, a little too much anchovy for me. Entrees were good. I had the bone in rib eye with a merlot demi. The steak was cooked as ordered (medium) and came with a choice of side:
Grilled Asparagus, Sautéed Green Beans, Chef Vegetable Blend, Rice Pilaf, Hand Cut Steak House Fries, Mashed Yukon Gold Potatoes, Mashed Sweet Potatoes, Baked Potato, Vintage Au Gratin Potatoes.

I went with the Au Gratin Potatoes, very cheesy with nice flavor. My wife had the sirloin with crab cake. She liked it. What else can I say.
The service was friendly, but there were some misfires. Wine service was always late. I had finished my app when my glass arrived. I also was several bites into my steak when my red wine arrived. I would expect this as the restaurant is still really new.
$112.00 is a little expensive for Dedham but mostly worth it.
