New Vietnamese in Hayward - Pho Quyen Noodle House

Wendy Lai | Dec 23, 200205:28 PM     2

A friend and I went to this new noodle place last week. She lives close by and said this is a new place that just opened recently. I did a search and didn't see anyone posts a review yet. So here I go.

We went on a Wed. night, the place was practically empty. The service was friendly and attentive, surprisingly, everyone there spoke excellent English.

We didn't order a lot, just three things, fresh shrimp spring rolls (#3), Pho with flank, brisket and rare steak (#18), and Chicken with rice noodle soup (#27) All soups come in small or large bowls. Small bowls are $4.50, large bowls are $5.15, the spring rolls were $4.50 for three rolls. We both got small bowls, which were plenty. The spring rolls were freshly made, good flavor, but I would've have prefered more mint. I didn't try my friend's chicken noodle soup, but it looks similiar to mine pho, but with chicken breast instead. The pho soup was clean in flavor, evenly seasoned. Throw in some bean sprouts and basils and chili, it was a nice hot meal for a cold winter night.

If I am in the neighborhood again, I would definitly go back again. The food was pretty good, the service very friendsly, I hope they survive...

They deliever.
BY THE WAY, Yahoo gave me wrong directions! If you are going from 880 S, do not take Tennyson West like it says. Go East, better yet, call the restaurant, they can give you better directions.
