Vegetarian seeks French food

It is not easy to dine at a French restaurant without eating animal products. I do not want to eat fish, flesh or fowl, eggs, cheese or cream, but I do want to take friends less fussy than I to a very good French restaurant in the Los Angeles area. Where can we be happy for less than thirty dollars per person, not including wine? Since we will bring our own wine, we prefer places that charge five dollars or less for corkage. Café Angélique is not possible.
