So, for this little B-day party I'm hosting (all girlz, by the way), I will be making a sort of afteroon tea-ish menu (but not really too formal)... Have to keep it vegetarian because the B-day girl is, damn her. (:-D)
I don't want to slave in the kitchen all day, and also I'll be making the birthday cake, whatever it may turn out to be... But I definitely want to serve some savory bites as well.
So this is the menu as it looks like in my head right now, any ideas welcome. By the way we will start with a bit of wine I imagine, maybe some prosecco, and later move on to tea and sweets. I want the menu to be easy, fun and seasonal. Oh and I don't like beans, so no beans. Garlic should probably be kept at discreet levels.
Walnut, arugula and gorgonzola crostini
Crostini with ricotta and mushrooms, truffle oil
SOMETHING ELSE; E.g., how do you make really TASTY cucumber sandwiches that are not boring? Also, my local bakery (Marquet) makes the BEST brioche loaf. What kind of little vegetarian sandwich can I make with that?
Apricot-almond tart/cake (to be served with tea), need to figure this out yet. I thought of making madeleines but I always make those & need to vary my repertoire a bit
Intense chocolaty chocolate cookies
Maybe one more kind of cookies - donno yet
Raspberry-lemon birthday cake
As always, dear hounds, your input is much appreciated. TIA.
