Union Bar & Grille

After reading the posts on this website, I didn't have very high expectations. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised.

We started out with pomegranate martinis. I am not a martini aficionado but my dinner companions and I LOVED them. We were served cornbread in a warm skillet which was lovely.

For appetizers, my friends ordered the corn risotto, a pear salad, and I ordered the goat cheese arugula salad and we were all very happy. I tasted the risotto and it was very good.

For our entrees, two of us ordered the beef tenderloin and one the roasted chicken. I did not taste the chicken but the tenderloin was very good. It was tender, cooked as requested. The accompanying jacket potato was also very good.

We found our service to be very attentive and polite. When we first arrived, there were few people there but as the evening wore on it became more crowded. That did not compromise the level of their service.

I would recommend this restaurant.
