Uncle Vinnies Clam Bar (Raritan)

This was a "stumbled upon" place the other nite while investigating Raritan and will become a regular place for us now!!!

Its a small place, mostly taken up with a bar and cute open kitchen with several tables around it.

VERY GOOD Italian food.
We had a nice order of steamed clams first, with a nice garlicky broth.

I had linguine white clam sauce, which was VERY good (no they don't use butter thankfully just oil)... and my companion had Calamari with red sauce over pasta. i was not totally 100 percent thrilled with their red sauce but i havent been thrilled with any red sauce lately - maybe im going through "red sauce blues"...lots of calamari and tons of pasta, properly al dente.

Good bread, they even give little bruschetta to start off.
The waiter was VERY friendly and the crowd seems happy and well-fed.

They do apparently have specials but we somehow missed out on that part of the menu.. which we will look for next time

There was smoking at the bar, but I didn't even get a whiff of it, and my nose is very sensitive,

This is great little place and I think we will go often now.
