So I posted a few months ago about needing new places to try... I don't have a clue why I feel I have exhausted so many restaurants here, but I'm STILL feeling this way.
But now I'm in trouble! Hubby's bday is in two weeks and although I have a reservation (well, two, actually - Oceanique in Evanston and Sweets and Savories here in LP), I don't feel very excited about either. Don't worry, though - I'll be sure to cancel one or both with plenty of time to spare (I know that is not great etiquette).
We're (sadly) moving out of Chicago in June and are saving the biggies (namely Alinea and Charlie Trotter's) for our final blow-out meals. So I'm looking for something nice for this occasion but not THAT nice.
I've also toyed with Blackbird, but for some reason when we've looked at the menu, neither of us have felt very excited. Crazy, I know... I feel like we've tried most of the casual fine dining spots in town (at least all of the ones we've really wanted to), but there MUST be something I'm overlooking. Definitely willing to go anywhere for great food!
So please, throw any ideas my way! Thanks in advance...
