Twist Eatery | Forestville - Sonoma County

Melanie Wong | Aug 12, 201803:21 PM

During Sonoma County Restaurant Week in March, I had my first visit to Twist Eatery for the two-course lunch, $15. The offer was duck confit and a choice of salad or dessert.

Wanting to leave a little more money on the table, I added a cup of the soup of the day, clam chowder. And I'm glad I did, as this was the real deal New England style. Milky in texture and barely thickened, tasting of just clams, potatoes, a little bacon and onion. Plus scallions as garnish.

The duck confit on a bed of Tuscan white beans was pretty bland. Sitting at the counter where I could watch the cooking, I noticed that this dish and nearly all other savory entrees get a handful of grated cheese and scallions on top, for better or worse. So speak up if that doesn't suit you.

Dessert was chocolate pudding with a flourish of thick whipped cream and a raspberry. Nice job on this too.
