I became acquainted with this restaurant through one of my coworkers, who happens to be from the Chinese mainland. A group of us were attending a training seminar in Raleigh, and she suggested that we go to this restaurant for some "real" Chinese food.
The Peking Duck (order a day ahead) is outrageous! It is carved at tableside, and the leftovers are taken back to the kitchen to make a soup for a later course.
My wife and I have been back there several times, and we've noticed that the seasonings are different from other "Chinese" restaurants. The food is head and shoulders above anything else we've had in the Triangle.
Red Palace is in a shopping center on New Bern Avenue, in Raleigh, not far from the beltline.
