Tre Colore ~ Millstone

So, this past weekend my husband and I dined at a new takeover of a pizzaria/restaurant. (The former Gino's Cafe Capri...I miss Gino and his pies!!! SOOO good!!, and a few other names I can't remember.) It is located on 33 West, same plaza as A&S deli, right after the Iron Bridge Road light (and Millstone pilates.)

Anyway, it was around 7 ish, and I really wanted to stay close and never would even think about going here for dinner until when I drove by earlier in the day, saw all the grand opening signs. I usually stay clear of a "new" restaurant (ownership or managament change) for quite some time, until I actually hear it is good.

To both our amazement, it really was pretty good! Our waitress, Violet, was gracious, polite, and checked us on without being annoying or too much. We started with a shared baked clams appetizer. My husband loves this, but I just made so many over Thanksgiving, I only had one. Really fresh and delish! He was really happy. The sauce it was in had that nice hint of lemon.

We then ordered a red clam pie (not on the menu, but they did make it and made it well. I still love Frankie Fed's probably more, but this place did a nice first impression.)

The clams were the big ones, and that made my day! We also ordered a Chicken Parm dinner so we could try a few things out. Very good. I know some places that do chicken parm, fry it in that nasty week old oil in the deep fryer, but this actually tasted good! The linguine was not overcooked or mushy, so I am happy to think the owners don't make a dzen pounds of it and let it sit in the steamer all day.

The salad came with the dinner was a fine. The bread they serve was good, too. Not that "shoprite-tasting" bread.

Anyway, our check came to under $ 40.00!! ha ha!! And, food for the next day! It is a BYOB as well.

I think this place should do fine. They did just open a week or so ago, I wish them luck. I am happy to see a new place serve good food. I hope it stays consistant!!

Just wanted to let everyone else know. Hust wish the lights were a little dimmer in the dinning room, other than and service were great!

The prices are great, especially in this market. Looks like Luchento's has some competition!!!
