Take your Mum to tea...a pot of the wild blackberry is my fave...to enjoy with the $15.95 3-tier set of scone/salad/3 tea sandwiches.

Hours: Thursday - Sunday

top tier: warm scone with double Devon cream and strawberry preserves
middle tier: mixed garden greens with cucumber, kidney beans, tiny garbanzos, edible flowers and a raspberry vinaigrette
bottom tier of the day's tea sandwiches: we had the sausage roll, a chicken and artichoke salad, cream cheese.

It's all quite lovely. You'll feel as though you've entered a lavender-and-white-trimmed doll house for a cuppa - civility in the fog. The service is charming; each table is set on crisp white linens with matching china. The food is delectable.
The bonus: a scenic drive along Skyline from San Francisco. A Day Away can be just 20 minutes down the road.
