anyone know the Torafuku story - sushi on pico?

Its right next to Westside pavillion, last minute decision for sushi and usually go to sawtelle area of Crazyfish on Olympic. Nothing great, just cold Sapporo and a few rolls and sashimi.

I had been to Torafuku a long time ago and remembered it more downscale and went in there thinking that.

Well, the Sashimi plates are about $30 each. Had beer and sake, edamame and miso soup and 3 dishes for $120 with tip.

Sweet Santa Barbara shrimp sashimi - very good but 3 pieces for $20 - after they present they fried the heads to go with, interesting and tasty

Albacore Tuna sashimi with a garlic sauce - also very good.

Seared yellowtail - good.

All excellantly plated and very good but pricey.

I am not a top notch taster of sushi, I know what I like and appreciate new and good things but was just shocked at the price. Was it worth it?
