We tried this many months ago, out of curiosity and laziness. (I wanted something quick, unusual, and easy to serve guests while they were waiting for me to finish cooking dinner.) My clan loved the stuff, and at one point, we had 6 boxes in the freezer. Then they disappeared, as many good things at TJ often do, and I briefly contemplated making my own from scratch.
These make an excellent appetizer, though they are not visually arresting. Rich brioche, crisp on the outside, with lots of garlic butter on the inside. And, of course, the inimitable escargot!
