This little unassuming Thai place on Bellaire seems to be an excellent place to grab a quick cheap meal. For $2.95 you get a choice of two dishes at the steam table with rice. My dad ended up getting the hot chicken curry and the beef curry. Both were very tasty. Another item on the steam table that looked interesting (atleast 3 people had this dish when I was there out of 10-15) was a smoked fried fish(i forget exactly what it was). It was a big pile of smallish fish served over rice.
I ordered a crispy fried whole fish that was served with a sauce on the side. It was good but probably not the best choice I could have made. We also shared a bowl of tom yum that was very tasty even if it lacked much in the amount of shrimp and other veggies.
I can't wait to hit thai corner in order to get a better feel for thai in the area because quite frankly kanamwan isn't as good as it used to be.
On a side note I travel to Chicago this weekend where I have reading about the great Thai restaurants in the area. As far as I am concerned Lotus of Siam in Vegas is the standard for Thai but many believe some Chicago joints are as good or better. I'll let you know next week.
