I have posted about Tepthida Khemer several times in the past and it remains one of my favorite S.E. Asian places around Boston. The room can get a bit noisy if the place is busy because there isn't much to dampen the sound but other than that the food and the service have always been very good.
It had been awhile since I had been to Tephida Khmer mainly because I don't work as close to Lowell as I used to but given the slow period over the holidays I decided to make the terk and try it for lunch again.
They have a small lunch menu which offers smaller potrions and some very good noodle soup choices but me and my party opted for the regular menu.
We started with an order of their version of Goi Cuan (Fresh rolls) which are made to order and had nice fresh herbs and shrimp served with a very nice dipping sauce. We then moved on to one their soups which had shrimp, pineapple, tomatoes along with lemon grass and galangal and a nice garlicky broth. We shared a small bowl of the soup.
We then choose the Beef Loc Lac and their version of Drunken Noodles. I have always enjoyed the Loc Lac at T.K. It has a wonderful carmelly type texture and it is always tender. It is served on a bed of lettuce and sliced tomatoes along with a lemon black pepper sauce. The Drunken Noodles had a slightly spicy mixture of large flat rice noodles stir firied with slices of beef, shrimp, calamari and lots of onions and broccoli. There was also a small bowl of steamed white rice wheich went well with the Loc Lac.
If there had been one or two more people with us I would have ordered the Mee Siam and the Cambodian style Curry. Both are delicious.
T. K. is a wonderful little restaurant that turns out a very nice selection of Cambodian and S.E Asian foods. When you are in or around the area give it a try.
