Tempura sushi rolls

Hi everybody,

Last week, while dining at a trendy place here in Tokyo, I had, for the first time, a tempura sushi roll. The restaurant took a whole California roll, dipped it in tempura batter, and fried the roll until light brown. Then, they cut it into 6 pieces, and served with a side of wasabi/ginger sauce.

I was pleasantly suprised at just how good it really was.

Has anybody else run across this type of dish?

BTW, name of the restaurant is Furutoshi, in Nishi Azabu.
