Tartine (SF Mission) Finally Open

Chuck McCall | Jun 26, 200211:44 AM     14

In March and April they had a sign that said "Opening in May" and in May and for most of June the sign said "Opening in May". Then on Sunday the sign said "Wednesday 8 AM".

I lined up with the other eager beavers to get my hands on a pan au chocolate ($2.50). It was excellent: A thin crunchy buttery shell, soft warm interior, and just the right amount dark chocolate on the inside.

Future visits will be required to try more pastries, breads, sandwiches and quiche.
