I tried Tartine last night, the BYOB french bistro in the West Village. I must say it was a trainwreck from start to finish. When we arrived there was a line outside in the cold and it seemed disorganized in regards to if you have to put your name on a list or now. The extremely rude server told me to wait outside, there is no list. When we were seated we saw another table further from the drafty door and asked if we can sit there instead. The table was bussed but there was no setting yet and she forced us out the door to wait outside for the 10 seconds it took to set the table. AND THE FOOD... terrible. The protobello with goat cheese was soggy and overcooked in a wine reduction, the french onion soup flavorless, the pear salad limp and not fresh and the sausgae with potato overcooked. It was some of the worst food I have ever had in a restaurant and the staff were beyond rude and hostile. Horrible.
