2 out of 3 ain't bad, right?
First the disaster: Stonyfield Farms nonfat vanilla frozen yogurt might be the single worst packaged food product I've tried this year. It has no discernible taste. Not vanilla. Not even sweetness. My question: I've found no-fat frozen yogurt sold fresh at superior yogurt/ice cream stores often tastes as good or better than low-fat varieties. But this hasn't been my experience with packaged yogurts -- any ideas why?
Now the 2 successes. I picked up lemon pistachio nuts at Kalustyan's in New York City. I've never tried them before, and they are addictive. Question: is this a snack of any particular nationality?
My favorite current snack? Trader Joe's Salsa Tortilla Chips. They do taste of fresh tomatoes and a hint of jalapeno and cilantro. But it isn't the flavor that's my favorite component -- it is the texture, rough and thick. Great stuff.
