Hunan Balcony on Johnson Ave. in Riverdale has great wonton soup -- delicate little wontons (not those big cannonballs you usually get), ginger-accented broth, and flecks of scallion. It also had an unusual (but good) sesame oil flavor the first time i had it, which was missing the second time. HB also offers free chocolate fortune cookies (yes) and sliced orange (no) when you're done eating. This strip has exploded with restaurants -- 4 Chinese, Vietnamese, Indian, Tex-Mex (fast-food), Italian (the one that wouldn't let Rudy eat there), and a few others. So even if HB isn't your kind of place, you're bound to find one that is. Take the #1 train to 231 St. and then the #7 or #10 bus to W. 236 St. Walk west from the 7 and east from the 10 or just ask for Johnson Ave. Everyone knows where it is.
