Need help for Sugar Bowl - kinda long

Lindsey3 | Dec 26, 200407:57 PM

Hey Chowhound friends.
You all have helped me many times in my NO dining experiences without ever having to post (thank you!)But now I need some help. As stated we are coming down to the Sugar Bowl. It will be my husband and my 20 year old (who thinks he has been 21 for a few years)along with a bunch of Auburn friends and fans! My family and I are staying in Marigny at a B&B - this is where I love to stay even when in NO on business. This will be a low key trip and I feel ya'll have taught me well enough what tourist traps to stay away from but I do have some questions.... My questions are:
I ate at Drago's for the 1st time in Dec. and loved it. I mean I LOVED IT! I have a group that has asked me to pick a good place for oysters. Drago's was my first pick, but then I have read things about Zeke's. Again, I say this a low key trip, due to having alot of college age kids with us. What are your thoughts? Drago's or Zeke's? We will all have cars and/or don't mind taking a taxi.
Next question, what about Mandich's? I have never eaten there, but thought our son might enjoy something different, and it looks good, but I don't hear alot about it.
Acme's, Uglesich's and Praline Connection are a definite on my list for this trip. We have been done, Commandor's Palace, GW Fins, Jacques Imos and others. But somehow dining with this age group is different!
Thank ya'll again for your help, and hope you can help me out!
