I had an order of steamers yesterday at a local fish joint. After eating a few, I noticed something sticking out of the belly of one. It was about a 1/2 inch long, translucent tube about the size of a piece of rice noodle vermicelli, with a red tip on one end. It had no discernible internal or external structure (no "head", guts, etc.). I opened a bunch more, and about half of them had this single "noodle" in the belly.
I don't know if it was internal organs or a parasitic worm. So I'm not sure whether to be naseous or not. Or whether I should alert the place to question the source of their steamers. Any ideas?
