Someone on the "other" food board posted they got some excellent brisket from the Stay Gold BBQ folks on 2635 San Pablo Ave, Oakland (off 51st St.).

It reminded me that quite a while back we had stopped in for a look at the new BBQ format and were given a sample of their brisket. The spicing seemed a little different, but the brisket was amazingly juicy and very flavorful/tender.

We were on our way for some Ethiopian food so didn't stay, but I was pretty impressed - all the more so because I don't usually like BBQ brisket.

Spouse is not a big BBQ fan except for beef ribs, so we never did return. But I was happy to hear they are still in business and hanging on through these rough times.

If anyone gives them a try, please report back!
