Gourmet includes SPQR in its list of top ten Italians-
My experience at SPQR was so bad that I plan never to set foot in the place again. When I talk to my other friends from Italy who visited at different times, we all come down with the same issues: the menu doesn't deliver what it promises (that is not a mozzarella in carrozza, that's a French toast with mozzarella inside!), the pastas were mediocre at best (and the portions were really small!), and generally the meal left us with a generic feeling of non-satisfaction- along with a poor dessert menu.
Can a fan of SPQR please try and talk me into giving the place a second chance?
