I met at least one chef lurker there tonight (Hi Kevin!), so I know you're out there listening :-) You all collectively knocked my socks off tonight.

I had the good fortune to volunteer for the event tonight. The time I had to sample the incredible offerings was limited and I regret that I has no time to take notes, so all the deliciousness merged into one hazy cloud of palate overload. What really struck me was the passion, talent and creativity that went into all the offerings there. I knew we had talented chefs in Boston, but somehow cramming all that creativity into one room really made me appreciate how fantastic you all are. I did have some time to make the rounds before the crowds got hot and heavy and I was so pleased to see a complete lack of attitude. Every chef I spoke with was happy to explain the dishes to me in a friendly and engaging manner. Our local celebrity chefs were right there on the lines working the saute pans and making sure the food was heavenly.

Some places that bumped up to the top of my "must visit" list tonight were: Dedo, Coriander, Pigalle, Great Bay, 75 Chestnut, Oceana, Les Zygomates, Clio, Capital Grill and Sage. Sigh, I wish I could remember more and single out specific dishes but I'm afraid I'd make a huge mess of it.

I must also give a nod to the incredible showing that local culinary schools made. Great chefs are in the making out there.

I hope that other hounds with a better ability to give credit for specific dishes were there tonight and can chime in the fill the huge gaping holes in my comments. Again, my apologies that I can't better recognize the amazing dishes I was fortunate enough to sample.
