had an unexpectedly wonderful meal last night at this spot on W84th at Amsterdam. Velvety polenta with porcini, delicious artichokes with lemon, and an outstanding sirloin with rosemary sauce. Excellent service and we were made to feel right at hom the minute we walked in. 3 apps, 2 entrees & 2 glasses of red = around $140 w/ tip. Had meant to go here for a long time, now that we've been introduced it will become one of our go-to's in the nabe. Can't wait to try the pastas.

I would not hesitate to recommend it to someone looking for a high quality meal on the UWS. Have to say I think its much better right now than almost anything else north of w70th.
