Before my meeting nearby, I had a chance to check out Old Soul Coffee at The Weatherstone in February. This was a follow-up to a tip from "Ridge".
This location of this local coffee roaster is housed in a historic 100-year old building. On a drizzly morning, the weathered brick former barn was particularly romantic and atmospheric. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that not only does Old Soul roast its own coffee beans, the baked goods are made in-house too.
The cappuccino was perfectly balanced with silky foamed milk and no need for sugar. The full-bodied roast was smooth, well-rounded and tasted more of torrefaction than fruity notes or acid.
Even better was the cream cheese-hearted pumpkin muffin. This was a great start to the day. Old Soul also features an extensive of hot food items that I'd like to try next time.
