Visited Soul Bowlz Food Truck this week, located at the short-lived BOUG Creole Deli location on Third Street in the Bayview. The menu may be short, but includes several soul-food standards.

I jumped at one of my all-time favorite dishes, Shrimp & Grits. Although it came in a large bowl with a good portion of grits at the bottom, the version was quite soupy. With 3 or 4 shrimp thrown in along with some sausage, the dish sort of resembled gumbo more than S&G.

Still, the flavor was there, and there are enough other interesting dishes to bring me back. The nice folks said they were in their 4th week and are open three days a week.
