Small strip loin roast/large steak

I just pulled a chunk of strip loin, about 2-1/2 inches thick, out of the freezer. Not particularly great quality meat but I think I bought it because it was on sale a while back. Anyhoo, am hoping to have it for dinner tonight. How does one tackle this kind of thing? Can grill or roast - no sous vide. Suggestions?
