I see a lot of recs on this board for Brigtsen's and I don't want to miss what could be the best dining experience in NOLA during my trip. However, my partner and I like very simple dishes - fish and meats without heavy, fussy sauces, for instance. Admittedly, we're on a midwest palate, so we're able to indulge our simple tastes quite often. Will we be disappointed with what appears to be "more involved" dishes at Brigtsen's, or will it be an eye-opening experience?
As a comparison, the dishes on Upperline's menu seem more approachable for us, but I don't want to shy away from Brigtsen's unnecessarily.
Has anyone else with simple tastes tried Brigtsen's and walked away with an opinion one way or the other?
