Silicone - what's in your kitchen?

mobiledynamics | Feb 20, 201802:17 PM

The only Silicone items we have is a single Silpait, a large and very small turner, a couple of spatulas, and 2 Silicone tongs. Primarily use these for the NS bakeware, egg pans, and ECI. We've had a pair of silicone muffin pans, and ice cube trays and threw them all out. Muffin trays never cleaned well, and the trays absorbed ice box odor that imparted into the ice. Heh, if it was up to me, I would even throw the Silpait away - it's the wifeys. I'd use parchment and just call it a day.

Are all ~silicone~ more or less the same...just short of durometer ?
We picked up another LeCreu. spatula and this one is made PRC....our old was was USA based. Anyhow, upon 1st use, either it was already blemished or it blemished in use (scraping clean brownie batter). Anyhow, the silicone developed a nick in the edge - enough for batter to accumulate in this divot.
