two short reports-Houston

Its been awhile since I reported on anything new. A couple weeks ago I packed up the family and grandmother and headed to san leon, Topwater Grill, for some seafood. The place is "real" fishing village looking with a bunch of old shrimp boats docked at the restaurant. There is some outdoor seating that was pleasant and a rickety (in a good way, not fake ricketty) indoor area. We started off with the stuffed jalepenos which were stuffed with some crab and cheese breaded then fired. They were really good. Everyone got fried shrimp and noone was dissapointed. The batter on everything is probably wonder flour and is crispy/crunchy. Medium/large very sweet shrimp. All in all I really liked this

This past weekend we had a huge bash out in the country and I self appointed me as the person in charge of cake and headed over to Not Jus Donuts on Dowling in the third ward because I had heard a few good things about the place. I sampled a cake and loved it. We prdered 2 1/2 sheets, 1 red velvet and the other butter cake with choc frosting. The cakes were wonderful. How anyone can go to kroger, Randalls and get a cake baffles me.
