Sequel - Good food but more patrons needed!

Had dinner at Sequel after a long hiatus. Still the tiny, cozy, romantic restaurant I remembered.

Our server was courteous and professional.

Our party of four ordered the following:

For appetizers, we had the Duo of fresh and roasted vegetable salad, PEI mussels in a smoked bacon/Sambuca cream sauce and Lobster pot pie.

For mains, we had the Grilled whole bass, (deboned before plate presentation), Grilled flat iron steak & Frites and Roasted pheasant.

For dessert we all have the Apple Crumble with house made vanilla bean ice cream.

Every dish was prepared well and quite delicious. The white bass was perfectly cooked unlike the dry and overcooked sea bream we had at Grace a few weeks back. The flat iron steak was tender and flavourful. The chaussur sauce was delicious. Again better tasting than the bland 'Port steak' we had at Grace. The high light of the evening was my pheasant. Crispy skin and not a tad dry or overcooked. The pan jus was ultra delicious. The braised savoy cabbage accompaniment was perfect to mop up the sauce. The throwing in of some grilled warerchestnut was a nice touch. Dessert was a bit on the sweet side, nothing special.

Surprise of the evening was that, apart from a couple who left a few minutes after our arrival, we were the ONLY TABLE the entire evening!!!! Who said we are out of the recession?!!
