Restaurants & Bars 3

After 20 years in downtown SD, we just moved our offices to Banker's Hill (between downtown SD and Hillcrest, west of Balboa Park). We are very close to the Hob Nob Hill Restaurant on Juniper and First. We need the inside scoop on the CHOW spots in the area for lunch. We know where the "haute" places are like Laurel, Bertrand at Mr. A's and even the Imperial House. We are looking for the proverbial holes in the wall and semi-street food. (No real street food in SD). Most of the places that we have tried in the past month that are within walking distance of the office, have been well... UTTERLY DISGUSTING.

So, before going down the road to chow perdition, maybe we have to drive to lunch. Your favorite CHOW places in Hillcrest would be helpful, too. (We like Bread & Cie, Shusi Kazumi and Picaso... even the Royal Market works in a pinch). Does anyone know Chilango's?

Many thanks,
