Sat/Sun - Mardi Gras in Pinole - Beignets & Crawfish pizza

Krys | Mar 18, 200511:28 AM

OK, so I'm dropping the car off to get the brakes fixed and I stop by Bear Claw Bakery in Pinole for a cup of coffee. There's a big sign about Mardi Gras this Saturday.

I guess Bear Claw makes Mardi Gras food every year, this year they are just a little late. From 11 - 2 on Saturday and Sunday they will be serving jambalaya, gumbo, beignets and crawfish pizza.

I like their baked goods, so I'm guessing the beignets will be good.

And ... will report back if the torta place I heard about on my way home is any good. The guy who drove me home while my car gets fixed is from Mexico and it seems there's this place in Richmond ...

Here's a link to an article about what's been happening in Pinole. There are plans to have more events in the area other than the "big seafood festival" in Pitssburg ... BIG SEAFOOD FESTIVAL?? Anyone know about this?

Anyway, was trying to find the Bear Claw address when I came across this article about Pinole. It quotes the owner of the bakery.

Here's the address of the Bakery ... this weekend ... let the good times roll (now if people are throwing beads in the streets of Pinole, I will know I've entered a parralel universe).

The Bear Claw Bakery
2340 San Pablo Ave, Pinole, CA 94564
