Got to try the newest beer from Houston's great brewery, Saint Arnold. It's an India Pale Ale, named Elissa. Tried it at a local brewpub in Houston, since it's not in bottles or widely distributed yet, I understand.
Recent tried a six pack of their seasonal brew, Spring Bock.
Both of these are excellent. Although I also love a few of the West Coast microbrews, I try to buy Saint Arnold's when possible. It's a Houston brand, wonderfully well-made, and they seem to be a cool company, too.
I don't work for them and haven't been to their brewery, which is also supposed to be fun (going to the brewery). Frank of Saint Arnold sometimes posts to this board, maybe he wants to comment on these beers and what else is on the way.
According the Michael Jackson (the beer guy)'s web site, India Pale Ale is:
British pale ales for the Indian Empire were made to a higher than normal strength, and given more hops, to protect them on the journey. Today, the hoppiest examples of this style are made by the new generation of American brewers. 5.0-plus, sometimes far higher.
