O.K. I thought I knew Santa Fe, but the other day couldn't find Rooney's on Guadalupe. Somebody please tell this lost soul where it is. I know where the mall is, I know where the old Lotaburger place is, but where or where is Rooney's?
Incidentally, we have always extolled the food at Diegos in DeVargas, but the last couple of times we ate there, it wasn't quite as good. Chicken Burritos were very runny with the water the chicken was cooked in, and the bird had no flavor whatsoever.
So, we tried La Choza after about 12 years. We were pleasantly surprised! Had the Carne Adovado Burrito, and the meat was spicy without tearing your head off, posole instead of the always on the plate rice. We do our burritos christmas. The red and green both had a good bite to them. The salsa was exceptionally good, tortillas nice and crisp and the sopapillas were hot and fluffy.
Anyone else unhappy with Diegos, or pleased with La Choza?
Please let me know about Rooney's Tavern.
