A few years ago I posted a rave review of Ristorante Toscano, on Charles Street:
[BROKEN LINK REMOVED]
I've gone there several times in subsequent years and I've always enjoyed it. I went there this past weekend again, and this time I was seriously disappointed. Several dishes were mediocre, e.g. flavorless branzino doused in too much oil. The side dishes were skimpy. The service was dreadful. The price was about %25 higher than the food deserved.
I think they've expanded since the last time I was there, taking over another storefront; and perhaps they can't handle the volume. But I'm afraid I have to find a new favorite Italian restaurant in Boston.
