We were watching the Sox game last night at the Corrib Pub in West Roxbury (a classic old Boston watering hole), and were lamenting the possibility that Amrhein's in Southie may reopen as an upscale restaurant, and got to wondering:
Are the "Old Boston" dining spots and watering holes an endangered species?
Growing up in this area, I have spent so much time in classic old Boston places like Amrhein's, Doyle's, The Corrib, and Jacob Wirth, as well as places now long gone, like Nick's Beef and Beer House, Rosie's, and Molly Darcy's.
What are some other "Old Boston" restaurants, bars, and pubs that still remain? I'd love to know of some others that I haven't been to; I know there are several in Dorchester, but other than CF Donovan's, I haven't been to any of them.
