We went to Red Cat in Chelsea Friday night. Since there was a recent post asking if it was still good, I thought I'd post a review. Short answer: yes!
Menu is very interesting, particularly the appetizers and side vegetables sections.
Apps: I had the warm goat cheese salad, which had lots of goat cheese, and the freshest tastiest greens I've had since Spring. My husband had had the sweetbreads appetizer, and enjoyed it.
Main courses: He had the arctic char with bacon vinagrette and baby brussels, which was perfectly done. As my main course, I had the baked sardine appetizer, lovely rich flavor, with delicious heirloom beans ragout. Also we shared sides of buttery, soft brocolli rabe (listed as red hot but not spicy at all) and a smooth cheesy polenta.
Desserts were a really great selection. I had the sticky toffee pudding. He had the pistachio semifreddo with a chocolate sauce. Both were expertly done.
Drinks were also excellent, including a nice large sidecar.
