If you've been looking for a true whole-wheat bagel (nearly all the so-called whole-wheat bagels are made with a blend of white and whole-wheat flour), they are finally available from Hudson Bagel, on Hudson just north of Christopher. Their regular bagels have always been better than average, but I almost never eat bagels because I try to avoid refined wheat products. You can really tell the difference between these and the ersatz w-w, because these are quite chewy and flavorful. If you don't truly like whole wheat, you might not like these, but I'm very grateful for them.
P.S. - They also make very good homemade soup.
