REAL Italian on New Year's Day

Pavla | Dec 31, 2002 10:17 AM

Yo guys - I have the dubious task of finding a REAL Italian restaurant to take my father-in-law to for dinner on New Year's Day in the DC area. It needs to be authentic, old-school and not too noisy. (nothing too chic or nouveau) I hate AV downtown and would prefer not to go to the Alpine in Arlington (even though it rocks) becuase we always go there. Any chance any other itali-hounds have ideas for me about where to take the Godfather? (his nickname, btw) If I was in Philly I'd have entire neighborhoods that would do, but here I am lost...
