I bought a small jar of raspberry jam from Wilklow Orchards, which has a presence at NYC Greenmarkets (I bought mine when they were selling at Whitehall Terminal in Manhattan.)
Wow. This is so good. Yes, at $5 it's twice the price of average supermarket jam, but the flavor is so bright and true. I just wanted to pass along how much I am enjoying it.
It is made in the traditional way with sugar added rather than fruit juice. That doesn't bother me. I like the fact that the raspberry seeds are in there too. All I can find at the supermarket is the seedless kind; I guess many people don't like the seeds. I do; I think it's part of what gives good berry jam its character.
