Rafele premiers in Rye...

Walked into the new Rafele Ristorante on Purchase Street in Rye just prior to their opening night and I must say, the decor is a knockout. After months of renovation to this former Asian restaurant space, it had its doors spread open and glowed inside with lovely furnishings and art. There is an open kitchen, stunning enclosed wine room, two brick ovens ready to prepare their designer pizzas, fish and meats, and a sparkling bar. Look for such specialties as Pappardelle with Lamb Ragu, Fritta Pizza, and Bistecca per due seared in the brick oven with sides of roasted cauliflower and sautéed spinach. Naples-born Chef/Owner/Partner Raffaele Ronca also operates Rafele in the West Village of Manhattan. www.rafelerye.com
It appears to be a lovely addition to the bustling Rye dining scene. Looking forward to trying it soon...
