OK, I know "Quiet Restaurant" may be considered something of an oxymoron in NYC, but that's what we seek. My dad, even with a hearing aid, has trouble hearing, so if we go to a typical "loud" NYC dining room, he mostly sits there and smiles.
We're open to food and budget (I don't need someone to say "Masa is quiet"). Last dinner was Cafe Boulud, but we also like Atlantic Grill. If the restaurant is corkage friendly, that's a plus... but not a must.
He lives UES (93th St) and my hotel is midtown (45th St) so something in between is desired, but we aren't so snobby that we won't venture out of the area.
Inclined more toward simple, but elegant. Not looking for a 10 course chef's tasting menu. I'll save that for another time :-)
Thanks for all ideas
